Total greenhouse gas emissions including LULUCF (Mt CO2e) by country
A measure of annual emissions of the six greenhouse gases (GHG) covered by the Kyoto Protocol (carbon dioxide (CO2), methane (CH4), nitrous oxide (N2O), hydrofluorocarbons (HFCs), perfluorocarbons (PFCs), and sulphur hexafluoride (SF6)) from the energy, industry, waste, agriculture, and land use, land use changes,...
What the numbers show
Total greenhouse gas emissions including LULUCF (Mt CO2e) is currently reported for 176 countries. The highest value is 14,065 Mt CO2e in China; the lowest is -147.59 Mt CO2e in Central African Republic.
The median across all reporting countries is 38.96 Mt CO2e, and the mean is 257.77 Mt CO2e.
The gap between the highest and lowest reporting country is a factor of about 95.
Over the past decade 106 countries rose and 70 fell. The largest increase was in Sweden (up 2,476.6%), and the largest decrease in Venezuela (down 1,841.6%).

About this data
A measure of annual emissions of the six greenhouse gases (GHG) covered by the Kyoto Protocol (carbon dioxide (CO2), methane (CH4), nitrous oxide (N2O), hydrofluorocarbons (HFCs), perfluorocarbons (PFCs), and sulphur hexafluoride (SF6)) from the energy, industry, waste, agriculture, and land use, land use changes, and forestry (LULUCF) sectors, standardized to carbon dioxide equivalent values. The measure is standardized to carbon dioxide equivalent values using the Global Warming Potential (GWP) factors of IPCC's 5th Assessment Report (AR5).
