Analysis
Russia recorded 2.02 Mt CO2e for nitrous oxide (n2o) emissions from building (energy) in 2024.
That represents a change of up 2.4% on the previous year and up 10.8% over ten years.
Over the whole period, nitrous oxide (n2o) emissions from building (energy) in Russia peaked at 6.93 Mt CO2e in 1987 and was at its lowest, 1.41 Mt CO2e, in 2010.
That places Russia 6th out of 197 countries with data for 2024, putting it in the top 10%.
The series is highly variable year to year, so single readings are best treated with caution.

About this data
A measure of annual emissions of nitrous oxide (N2O), one of the six Kyoto greenhouse gases (GHG), from the building sector (subsector of the energy sector) including IPCC 2006 codes 1.A.4 Residential and other sectors, 1.A.5 Non-Specified. The measure is standardized to carbon dioxide equivalent values using the Global Warming Potential (GWP) factors of IPCC's 5th Assessment Report (AR5).
