Analysis
Mali recorded 10.62 Mt CO2e for nitrous oxide (n2o) emissions (total) excluding lulucf in 2024. That is the highest value across all 55 years on record.
The figure is up 2.7% on the previous year and up 48.7% over ten years.
Over the whole period, nitrous oxide (n2o) emissions (total) excluding lulucf in Mali peaked at 10.62 Mt CO2e in 2024 and was at its lowest, 1.93 Mt CO2e, in 1974.
Mali ranks 41st of 203 countries on this measure, in the top quarter.
The series is highly variable year to year, so single readings are best treated with caution.

About this data
A measure of annual emissions of nitrous oxide (N2O), one of the six Kyoto greenhouse gases (GHG), from the agriculture, energy, waste, and industrial sectors, excluding LULUCF.. The measure is standardized to carbon dioxide equivalent values using the Global Warming Potential (GWP) factors of IPCC's 5th Assessment Report (AR5).
