Analysis
In 2024, nitrous oxide (n2o) emissions from power industry (energy) in Libya stood at 0.0209 Mt CO2e.
That represents a change of up 3.5% on the previous year and down 30.8% over ten years.
Over the whole period, nitrous oxide (n2o) emissions from power industry (energy) in Libya peaked at 0.032 Mt CO2e in 2005 and was at its lowest, 0.0008 Mt CO2e, in 1970.
That places Libya 85th out of 194 countries with data for 2024, putting it in the middle of the range.
The series is highly variable year to year, so single readings are best treated with caution.

About this data
A measure of annual emissions of nitrous oxide (N2O), one of the six Kyoto greenhouse gases (GHG), from electricity and heat generation (subsector of the energy sector) including IPCC 2006 code 1.A.1.a. The measure is standardized to carbon dioxide equivalent values using the Global Warming Potential (GWP) factors of IPCC's 5th Assessment Report (AR5).
