Analysis
The most recent figure for nitrous oxide (n2o) emissions from building (energy) in Ecuador is 0.0151 Mt CO2e, measured in 2024.
The figure is up 1.3% on the previous year and down 27.4% over ten years.
Over the whole period, nitrous oxide (n2o) emissions from building (energy) in Ecuador peaked at 0.0988 Mt CO2e in 1988 and was at its lowest, 0.0145 Mt CO2e, in 2021.
That places Ecuador 126th out of 197 countries with data for 2024, putting it in the middle of the range.
The series is highly variable year to year, so single readings are best treated with caution.

About this data
A measure of annual emissions of nitrous oxide (N2O), one of the six Kyoto greenhouse gases (GHG), from the building sector (subsector of the energy sector) including IPCC 2006 codes 1.A.4 Residential and other sectors, 1.A.5 Non-Specified. The measure is standardized to carbon dioxide equivalent values using the Global Warming Potential (GWP) factors of IPCC's 5th Assessment Report (AR5).
