Analysis
In 2024, methane (ch4) emissions from power industry (energy) in Uganda stood at 0.0052 Mt CO2e. That is the highest value across all 55 years on record.
The figure is up 100.0% over ten years.
Over the whole period, methane (ch4) emissions from power industry (energy) in Uganda peaked at 0.0052 Mt CO2e in 2022 and was at its lowest, 0.0001 Mt CO2e, in 1974.
That places Uganda 96th out of 194 countries with data for 2024, putting it in the middle of the range.
The series is highly variable year to year, so single readings are best treated with caution.

About this data
A measure of annual emissions of methane (CH4), one of the six Kyoto greenhouse gases (GHG), from electricity and heat generation (subsector of the energy sector) including IPCC 2006 code 1.A.1.a. The measure is standardized to carbon dioxide equivalent values using the Global Warming Potential (GWP) factors of IPCC's 5th Assessment Report (AR5).
