Analysis
Burundi recorded 0.0003 Mt CO2e for methane (ch4) emissions from power industry (energy) in 2024.
That represents a change of unchanged over ten years.
Over the whole period, methane (ch4) emissions from power industry (energy) in Burundi peaked at 0.0006 Mt CO2e in 1999 and was at its lowest, 0 Mt CO2e, in 1970.
That places Burundi 159th out of 194 countries with data for 2024, putting it in the bottom quarter.
The series is highly variable year to year, so single readings are best treated with caution.

About this data
A measure of annual emissions of methane (CH4), one of the six Kyoto greenhouse gases (GHG), from electricity and heat generation (subsector of the energy sector) including IPCC 2006 code 1.A.1.a. The measure is standardized to carbon dioxide equivalent values using the Global Warming Potential (GWP) factors of IPCC's 5th Assessment Report (AR5).
