Analysis
Bolivia recorded 2.43 Mt CO2e for methane (ch4) emissions from fugitive emissions (energy) in 2024.
Compared with earlier readings it is up 2.8% on the previous year and down 31.0% over ten years.
Over the whole period, methane (ch4) emissions from fugitive emissions (energy) in Bolivia peaked at 21.88 Mt CO2e in 1973 and was at its lowest, 2.36 Mt CO2e, in 2023.
Bolivia ranks 71st of 192 countries on this measure, in the middle of the range.
The series is highly variable year to year, so single readings are best treated with caution.

About this data
A measure of annual emissions of methane (CH4), one of the six Kyoto greenhouse gases (GHG), from fugitive emissions (subsector of the energy sector) including IPCC 2006 codes 1.A.1.bc Petroleum Refining - Manufacture of Solid Fuels and Other Energy Industries, 1.B.1 Solid Fuels, 1.B.2 Oil and Natural Gas, 5.B. The measure is standardized to carbon dioxide equivalent values using the Global Warming Potential (GWP) factors of IPCC's 5th Assessment Report (AR5).
