Analysis
Ukraine recorded 0.8576 Mt CO2e for methane (ch4) emissions from building (energy) in 2024.
Compared with earlier readings it is up 0.2% on the previous year and up 51.7% over ten years.
Over the whole period, methane (ch4) emissions from building (energy) in Ukraine peaked at 3.64 Mt CO2e in 1980 and was at its lowest, 0.5653 Mt CO2e, in 2014.
Ukraine ranks 48th of 197 countries on this measure, in the top quarter.
The series is highly variable year to year, so single readings are best treated with caution.

About this data
A measure of annual emissions of methane (CH4), one of the six Kyoto greenhouse gases (GHG), from the building sector (subsector of the energy sector) including IPCC 2006 codes 1.A.4 Residential and other sectors, 1.A.5 Non-Specified. The measure is standardized to carbon dioxide equivalent values using the Global Warming Potential (GWP) factors of IPCC's 5th Assessment Report (AR5).
