Analysis
The most recent figure for methane (ch4) emissions from building (energy) in Slovakia is 0.1853 Mt CO2e, measured in 2024.
Compared with earlier readings it is down 0.5% on the previous year and up 12.2% over ten years.
Over the whole period, methane (ch4) emissions from building (energy) in Slovakia peaked at 0.4445 Mt CO2e in 1972 and was at its lowest, 0.0422 Mt CO2e, in 2006.
That places Slovakia 106th out of 197 countries with data for 2024, putting it in the middle of the range.
The series is highly variable year to year, so single readings are best treated with caution.

About this data
A measure of annual emissions of methane (CH4), one of the six Kyoto greenhouse gases (GHG), from the building sector (subsector of the energy sector) including IPCC 2006 codes 1.A.4 Residential and other sectors, 1.A.5 Non-Specified. The measure is standardized to carbon dioxide equivalent values using the Global Warming Potential (GWP) factors of IPCC's 5th Assessment Report (AR5).
