Analysis
Panama recorded 12.37 Mt CO2e for carbon dioxide (co2) emissions (total) excluding lulucf in 2024.
That represents a change of down 2.9% on the previous year and up 14.8% over ten years.
Over the whole period, carbon dioxide (co2) emissions (total) excluding lulucf in Panama peaked at 13.16 Mt CO2e in 2019 and was at its lowest, 2.47 Mt CO2e, in 1988.
That places Panama 101st out of 203 countries with data for 2024, putting it in the middle of the range.
The series is highly variable year to year, so single readings are best treated with caution.

About this data
A measure of annual emissions of carbon dioxide (CO2), one of the six Kyoto greenhouse gases (GHG), from the agriculture, energy, waste, and industrial sectors, excluding LULUCF. The measure is standardized to carbon dioxide equivalent values using the Global Warming Potential (GWP) factors of IPCC's 5th Assessment Report (AR5).
