French Polynesia vs Vanuatu: Nitrous oxide (N2O) emissions from Waste
Nitrous oxide (N2O) emissions from Waste over time
- French Polynesia
- Vanuatu
How they compare
French Polynesia currently reports 0.0057 Mt CO2e against 0.0039 Mt CO2e in Vanuatu, a difference of 0.0018 Mt CO2e.
That makes French Polynesia's figure about 1.5 times Vanuatu's.
Across all 55 years both countries report, French Polynesia has been ahead every year.
Globally, French Polynesia ranks 170th and Vanuatu ranks 173rd of 203 countries.

About this data
A measure of annual emissions of nitrous oxide (N2O), one of the six Kyoto greenhouse gases (GHG), from the waste sector. This includes emissions from solid waste (IPCC 2006 codes 4.A Solid Waste Disposal, 4.B Biological Treatment of Solid Waste, 4.C Incineration and Open Burning of Waste) and wastewater treatment (IPCC 2006 code 4.D Wastewater Treatment and Discharge). The measure is standardized to carbon dioxide equivalent values using the Global Warming Potential (GWP) factors of IPCC's 5th Assessment Report (AR5).
