French Polynesia vs New Caledonia: Methane (CH4) emissions from Waste
Methane (CH4) emissions from Waste over time
- French Polynesia
- New Caledonia
How they compare
New Caledonia currently reports 0.0495 Mt CO2e against 0.0419 Mt CO2e in French Polynesia, a difference of 0.0076 Mt CO2e.
That makes New Caledonia's figure about 1.2 times French Polynesia's.
The two have swapped places 1 time across 55 shared years of data; in 1970 it was French Polynesia ahead.
Globally, French Polynesia ranks 177th and New Caledonia ranks 175th of 203 countries.

About this data
A measure of annual emissions of methane (CH4), one of the six Kyoto greenhouse gases (GHG), from the waste sector. This includes emissions from solid waste (IPCC 2006 codes 4.A Solid Waste Disposal, 4.B Biological Treatment of Solid Waste, 4.C Incineration and Open Burning of Waste) and wastewater treatment (IPCC 2006 code 4.D Wastewater Treatment and Discharge). The measure is standardized to carbon dioxide equivalent values using the Global Warming Potential (GWP) factors of IPCC's 5th Assessment Report (AR5).
